After the Super Eagles‘ defeat by Ivory Coast, Stanley Nwabali, a Nigerian football player and custodian, was spotted crying. This led to an outpouring of solidarity for him from celebrities.
Remember that the Super Eagles were beaten 2-1 by Ivory Coast to win the AFCON Championship just a few hours ago?
Nwabali expressed his anger with disappointed Nigerians on his Instagram page.
He expressed regret to Nigerians and said he knew how it felt to ruin their night.
He accepted blame and responsibility while expressing his love and thanks to Nigerians for their steadfast support.
“A disappointing and frustrating end. I deeply apologize to Nigerians. I was once a fan, still a fan and I understand how it feels giving you a disappointing night. We take full responsibility. Thanks for the whole support till the end. I love you all” he wrote.
