Adekunle Gold commended the legendary musician, Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, as his first solo album, ‘Face2Face’, celebrates twenty years since its release.
The father of one described the album as the “definitive guide for Afrobeats”, highlighting 2Baba’s lasting impact on the music scene.
He emphasized that 2Baba’s enduring artistry and influence serve as a source of inspiration for upcoming artists, solidifying a legacy that remains strong.

2Baba’s solo debut came with the release of the album ‘Face2Face’ on May 15, 2003, following his exit from the boy band Plantashun Boiz.
This album, which was brought out under Kennis Music, included popular tracks such as ‘Nfana Ibaga’ and the iconic ‘African Queen’, which revolutionized the Nigerian and African music industries.
‘Face2Face’ is highly esteemed by music enthusiasts as the standard for debut albums in the Afrobeats genre.
