“I Have Lost a Lot Of People” – Emotional Davido Spills In New Interview

Renowned Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, often known as Davido, bravely spoke out about his deep journey through sorrow and how he copes with the loss of loved ones.

This music superstar is no stranger to grief, having suffered unspeakable losses throughout his life. He sadly lost his mother, Mrs. Victoria Imade Adeleke, at the age of 11, a wound that never entirely healed.

The heartbreaking loss of his 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, has left an even deeper wound, as have the untimely deaths of close pals Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and his personal photographer, Fortune, all of whom died in quick succession.

In a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York, where he captivated the audience with his striking outfit that highlighted his unique style, Davido opened up about the profound losses he has endured throughout his life.

The OBO Crooner, in the new video, shared the emotional weight of losing many loved ones and revealed how his unwavering faith has served as an anchor amid the tragedies.

His words;

“I have lost a lot of people. I lost my mum at the age of eleven. I’m just being strong. I did a song called ‘Stand Strong.’

“I feel like strength and obviously, my faith has kept me going,”

He also took the opportunity to clear up some misconceptions about his life and persona, spoke on the importance of family and the divine gift of his talent.

Davido explained;

“I think sometimes, people think I am not approachable. Another misconception is that people also think I am too accessible.

“I grew up in a big family, I’m used to having people around me. My talent and success is God-given,”
